John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy has been the filming site
for several productions including Discovery Channels “Hazard Pay”,
The History Channels “Human Weapon” and other smaller productions.
If you are interested in filming at Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate
Training Academy, here are some things to keep in mind.
1. We do not close the facility for any filming. This means that production
must work around our academy hours. Most filming has been done on Friday
nights, Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday when the gym is closed.
Other possible filming times would be during the mid-day hours when there
are no classes and the gym is fairly quiet.
2. For television and movie productions, there is a flat rate charge of
$2,000 per day for the use our facility, which includes the use of all
of our equipment. For photo shoots only, the rate is $1,000 per day. Both
productions and photographers are responsible for any equipment that is
broken during their use. Full replacement value is to be paid for at the
time of the incident so that the academy can immediately order a replacement.
3. Production companies are required to provide a copy of their insurance
policy, which is to include Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training
Academy as a location shoot.
4. Everyone entering the academy is to sign a release of liability prior
to performing any work.
